I'm a big Spanx fan when it comes to leggings. I own them in velvet, faux leather and active wear. So, I was excited to purchase the biker shorts. When I tried them on, I found the fabric quite heavy - which is good and bad....The good part is that the heavy fabric helps to compress, which means they fit great through the hips and thighs. But the heavy fabric isn't great for working out. Also, the waist band is long and loose - which again, isn't good for working out.So, if you plan to just wear these shorts for walking down the street - then they're great and flattering. But if you plan to work out in them, then I wouldn't recommend them. When you sweat, the fabric loosens - and these are already really loose at the waist. This means, you'd be spending all of your time pulling them up.I think Spanx tried to copy the "Wolford" biker shorts model which also really compress the hips and thighs. However, the Wolford ones have a shorter and tighter waistband, so they don't fall down. Of course, Wolford costs about 3 times the price of Spanx - so there's that.Overall, I'm keeping them - just for walking outside. But I won't be working out in them.
