Box completely torn and no effort to pad the product within the box - numerous scratches and burrs - thanks - I would like to scratch it up myself3. Design is standard concept - 5 stars4. Clears a Honda Pilot Rear Hatch with ease - 5 stars5. Plastic slide bushings - Very Good Idea and Functional - 5 stars6. Metal locking clasp - Adequate, actual driving use TBD - a threaded locking fastener would be much stronger and resist warping - 3.5 stars7. Dead weight over hitch looks really good - 4.5 stars8. Swing arm plastic bushing and nut bolt combination - 3.5 stars - Durability TBD should be metal bushings and bearings - 3.5 stars9. Swing arm will sag when fully extended and I would suspect all of these type products would with 120 plus pounds dangling from it - 4.5 stars10. Swing arm return to mount loaded with bike. A little difficult but not bad - just lift assist and push and it returns well. - 4.5 stars11. Metal strength - So far in my driveway testing/setup it seems pretty solid. Until I run it through the mountains at 70 miles per hour till then 4 starsOverall, without actual traveling use I would rate it 3.75 stars. If it proves to be super strong and doesn't sway excessively I would bump it up to a 4 star and with a little more improvement and engineering this could be a legitimate 5 start product.Labor day I am on the road with tis s/arm through the Catskills, New Hampshire, Canada and return. Although it looks like it would work ok, it’s going back and I’ll try a different model.The construction of the product is high quality except the safety lock. It broke the very first time we used it! Very glad we had the extra safety pin installed! DO NOT USE WITH THE PIN INSTALLED. No, I would not recommend this product.Works as described.Load capacity was at least 100lbs less than the max weight, and the pin/latch snapped during the first use. We had to pull over to remove the hitch to keep from losing/damaging the things we were hauling. Not worth the cost.This is a good rack, but on my Lexus GX460, the teflon started melting due to exhaust heat in just a few miles. Now I need to decide if I'll sell it and get another design, or if I'll rig up some kind of heat shield. I'd opt for a design with no teflon blockLatch and hitch pin bent on first useI but this swing away to put a bike rack and have access to my trunk of my SUV. When it was install in the hitch it’s all shaking in the hitch. My truck it’s new and the hitch to. So the problem is not my hitch because my bike rack don’t shake… It is very basic swing away. I hesitate to pay more for a Kuat pivot v2 and It was a mistake. So I return it to buy de Kuat.
