H I P L O K D The original Hiplok took everything that is good about a chain lock and made it so much easier and more convenient to carry. We have taken the same approach to the design of a mini D lock (or U lock if you prefer ) and the result is the Hiplok D. The "D" allows you to carry a mini lock in a multitude of ways due to its unique, patent pending clip system. It has been designed from the ground up to be used in the way that so many people use their mini locks while dramatically improving the comfort, flexibility and carrying options. It can be carried with ease and total stability on a belt, a bag strap, or in a pocket meaning it is always at hand for quick access and locking. Hiplok D brings together high strength, considered ergonomics and great functionality in a slim and compact package. Description: Easy to carry D Lock with unique clip feature, slim profile and optimized sizing. Colors: All Black - Cyan - Gray/Red - Lime/Specify color when ordering. Security Level: High Risk Security Rating: Sold Secure Silver Award Product Specification: 13mm hardened steel shackle hardened steel body casing, tough nylon outer shell. A bit small for bigger frame bikes.Love that I can just tuck it into my back pocket and head out - super convenient. I also find that taking the key in and out is quick and easy (not like some other locks where it takes a few minutes to unlock/lock it).I use it for my escooter and it works great!Bike locks are anything but cool. These certainly buck the trend and offer decent protection. I latch onto my belt and forget I'm carrying it even after riding for miles.Considering price, looks and security levels, I keep coming back to Hiplok products.Bought 2 of these and a Hiplok Lite v1.0 as a secondary lock.Very highly recommended!Build well. I knew I was trading off size, I just didn't realize how much. 1 inch longer would be perfect.Super solid lock. Feels bomb proof!no key had to return for creditI live in a pretty safe town but the crime we see most often is bike theft. I just purchased an electric bike and this lock let's me leave the bike without worrying too much.I caught this one at £22 plus a reasonable postage charge, and at that price I like it a lot. It's a stylish design (much better looking than many D-locks) that has a Sold Secure Silver rating. I probably won't use the belt/pocket clip, but that seems to work quite well and I could see it would be useful if you're not using panniers. As others have said, it's pretty small. The maximum diameter of whatever you're locking it to is 65 mm, but that doesn't leave a lot of room for the bike tube, especially if you have a fat aluminium or carbon frame. It works best with a small-diameter bike rack at the same height as your top tube, or perhaps a vertical steel bar – a fence support, say – to which you can lock your chainstay and rear wheel. It doesn't work well with street signs or parking meters.I was surprised at the weight: it seems heavier than my ancient Citadel D-lock, which has a much bigger span. But assuming that means more steel in the right places, I'm not complaining. The keys (3) are also fairly massive.I bought 2 of these after reading a few articles stating that they can't be popped open with a bottle jack. I had my last bike stolen so hopefully these will make things more difficult. They're quite heavy, probably heavier than the standard sized D lock I had previously, so that inspires a bit more confidence that they're going to be harder to cut through. The keys slide in easily and they open and close very easily.Only problem is that due to the smaller size they won't fit around some posts so you may need to look for somewhere else to lock up at times. An absolute useless lock. Th first day I used it my bike was stolen. This lock provides no security at all!!!! Avoid.,Reasonably inexpesive, easy to use, excellent customer service and warranty, seems like I was more than right to follow the recommendations I found on Reddit and I urge you to do the same. After all, you can return it if you feel like it's not what you thought it was but I'm sure you won't.It's just an amazing lock and gives me that peace of mind leaving my property behind somewhere. This is a very nice 'little' D Lock with a built in carry feature, it also has a reassuring weight and quality construction without being too heavy to actually carry.I would say it's useful for securely locking your frame to something for quick stops, as unfortunately it's not big enough to secure a frame and rear wheel to anything useful, unless you have an incredibly thin frame and rear wheel. I suppose you could add a 4ft security cable to tether the wheels, but then you would have to carry that as well, or carry two of these maybe?Recommended for it's intended purpose, just don't try to use it as a single lock solution for long term security in a crime ridden neighbourhood.
