I have had several bike helmets and this is one of the better one. If I ever have to replace it, I will likely buy the same helmet. It is easy to adjust and comfortable when you get it right. If it doesn't feel right, keep fiddling until it does. It is quite easy. I tested it on several 100 degree bike rides and stayed comfortable while riding. Another helmet I have is relegated to winter use (with the "vents" taped over) as it was just too hot to wear in summer. As always, the Array has to come off as soon as you stop to keep from overheating. My biggest complaint is that it only comes with one set of pads. If you have ever had to replace the pads, you know what a problem it is to find or fashion replacements. Helmets used to come with replacement pads and I was surprised not to find them in this helmet. Perhaps Bell expects only occasional use of the helmet. I use it typically 10 rides a week, so I know the pads will wear out or fall out in a year or so. I am not looking forward to that day.I worry a bit about the delicate nature of the "Array" that holds the helmet to the back of the head. It is very comfortable, but looks breakable. On my last Bell Helmet, the similar part broke after about two years of use. I worry when I put the helmet in a bag or hang it on the wall, that I will break this part. I shouldn't have to worry about breaking my helmet when storing it.The look is good, but the new black stripes on the sides look funny. From a distance, it makes the helmet look like it is riding high on the head. They should have kept the red/white striping over the entire surface.OK...I admit it...I don't have much use for bicycle helmets. I don't know how I've been riding for 50+ years and survived without wearing a helmet. I guess the same way I survived riding around in a car for many years before seatbelts and kid car seats. I must just be a survivor. My problem with bike helmets years ago when people first started considering using them was they were heavy and they made you feel like you were a benched linebacker. They were like wearing a heated kettle in the summer and what do you do with it when you weren't riding? No...I don't need to wear a darn helmet. Then I started to do a little mountain biking. Not quite the same as my past experience and now that I've reached the "age of maturity" and my nagging spouse has honed her skills...I decided to consider the merits of riding with a little protection for my noggin. This brings me to the part where I share my experience of the Bell Array. I knew I wanted a Bell helmet because of past experience riding motorcycles. If I'm going to consider riding my mountain bike with a helmet on my head I wanted the quality of construction Bell is known for. I knew my decision on the Bell Array was a good one after the first ride. This thing is comfortable, very light weight, and most surprising to me was that it was "airy". It's almost like having a fan built into the helmet the way the air is channeled and circulated. I'm of the opinion that it very much feels like you aren't wearing anything at all...I like that for obvious reasons. That and the fact that it's one less thing that "she who must be obeyed" has to nag me about. If you're like me and would prefer not to wear a pot on your head when taking a non-competitive bike ride but good sense or a nagging wife dictates otherwise...I highly recommend that you give the Bell Array a look. It's very lightweight, easily adjustable, comfortable, and cool. It's made for people who otherwise might hate bike helmets just as I did.I wanted two things out of this helmet; styling and comfort. With regards to styling the helmet is OK. It is wider than I would like, so it does give me a slight mushroom head look. In terms of comfort, I am very pleased with the helmet. It is easily adjusted to get an excellent fit and it allows for plenty of air flow. My head sweats much much less when I wear this helmet compared to my last one.**Update***I was just in a crash and this helmet probably saved my life. The back of my head was slammed into the ground when I went off the bike at 25mph. The helmet cracked under the impact but my head was fine. Bell has a program where they will offer a discount off of a replacement if you send them crash info. I plan on taking them up on that.Just getting back into cycling after 25 years removed, on a budget no less (aren't we all?). I wanted a decent helmet for under $100, one that got good reviews, and one that matched the rig. I also wanted one that had the inner foam "finished" all the way down the back of the helmet. The ARRAY does all this. All the reviews you read about sizing are dead on- this lid can be dialed in to fit perfectly! FYI, unless your head is a pin or a melon, go for the "M" size. My measurement was at the upper end of the sizing range on the MEDIUM, but found out this weekend that I still had enough slack to dial it out to fit a tight cap on underneath due to the cold weather we're having. Also, the back "webbing" seems to come down a little further than other helmets, offering more protection and a more confident fit. For the $$$, you can't go wrong!PS- Also found out that Giro and Bell are the same Co.!Easy adjustment system can be fine tuned while riding. The rear dial snugs up the sides as well as the rear area of the helmet. Side contact grippers are nicely curved to allow for wearing sunglasses without their arms being pinned and digging into the sides of my head. Feels very light and airy. Sizing seems a little on the small side. I measured my head several times and it was barely on the small end of the listed medium helmet range. But when I put it on, I have to adjust the helmet almost all the way out to its largest setting to get a comfortable fit. So, you need to factor that in if you wear helmet liners like I do in the cold weather.
